This is the year 2008. All countries have the right to have immigration laws and the absolute NECESSITY to secure its borders.
If we accommodate one foreign language, we should accommodate them all. Otherwise it IS discrimination.

I’m open to it as long as it works both ways; for instance we have a lot of actors from Canada working in our film industry. Americans should be able to work in theirs. In other words reciprocity must occur otherwise keep our borders intact and keep foreigners whether legal or illegal out of our work force.

No, I believe every nation should have secured borders, and be able to enforce its’ immigration laws without complaint from other nations. The responsibility of any nation is to its’ citizens, not the people of other countries.

NO WAY! I do not agree with open borders. That would mean that the terrorist would skip right in with their weapons of mass destruction. Open borders would be the worst thing that anybody could do to the US. We are now more at risk of these kinds of attacks because the Border Agents have been ordered to pull all their resources to stop people that are only coming here to work and live a better life, not the people that want to destroy ALL OF US! Keep our borders secure, and keep the Border Patrols original mission.

The chief patrol agent believes the Border Patrol’s mission has changed.
“When you look at the series of events that have happened over the last five, six years… our mission changed,” Manjarrez told AP. “Our primary mission changed from our traditional focus. Our primary mission now is terrorists and weapons of mass destruction. That is what we have to be focused on.”
But that can’t happen when resources are being deployed primarily against illegal immigrants simply wanting jobs. “We can’t focus on that (new mission) as much as we would like because of the other issues we have to deal with,” Manjarrez said.

The open border lobby states that because we have criminals such as murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc. in the US we should import them from other countries! This never made sense to me either!
Since Mandarin (Chinese) is the number 1 language spoken in the world we should take Spanish off the products and put Mandarin on so as to discriminate against fewer people!

most people trying to come in pay $2000+ to be snuggled in. regardless of the borders, no matter how high they are there’s always gonna be a way in. that money should be used instead as a fee for those immigrants to come in for 5yrs or so. that way the 2000dollars will go to the government and paying all their debts. or they could make a law where they have to prve they are working or doing something to contribute and not just belly up. I think thhat would work for everyone.

No non-U.S. Citizen has the right to dictate how the U.S. immigration policy should be or how the borders should be controlled.
This open border lobby, which I have not read about, does not know what it is talking about.
As I said many time before, it is illegal to be an illegal immigrant in this country. This is a legitimate federal law that does not need to be changed and cannot be misinterpreted by anyone. Read U.S. Code 8 again.
The U.S. lets legal immigrants in if it is beneficial to this country first and not to the other way around. The country comes first regardless if immigrants are trying to find a better way of life or not.
That may sound cold and callous but there is simply nothing wrong with that. It is not anti-immigration or discriminatory in any way.
Maybe we should lobby to take over Mexico and start putting in our people in large numbers over there. If the Mexicans complain then we will say that they are being discriminatory.
