It really depends how much help you need. There are a lot of free sites out there, such as that are great. But the challenge is that for most of us out there, these don´t work because we don´t stick to it (same reason there are trainers in gyms).
If you need a little bit more structure, there are some programs that offer live private instruction over the internet. Some are more of a free-for-all. Others are very structured.
If you want to give yourself the best chance for success, get a private teacher. Check out their program is inexpensive and you get one on one instruction plus a lot of individual study material.

A lot of the sites posted already are great, but you kind of just have to find out how you learn best to know what the best solution is for you.
The site I like teaches the most common topics you’d hear natives talking about. This helped me a ton because I heard and recognized what natives were talking about, and I knew how to respond the way they would. It really impresses them. Now I just need to learn more because, when they find out you can speak a few phrases the way they do, they think you know them all.
