The library summer program is a great idea for kids. Look into local churches and possibly sign them up for vacation bible school. It lasts a couple hours a day and most of the time lasts a week. Most churches you don’t even have to be a member. Our township park district offers summer arts in classes and movie night to kids who live in the township. There are so many options, and you can check your local paper out to for upcoming events.

I do have a recipe for silly putty :D !!!

    2 parts white glue (Elmers)
1 part Sta Flo liquid starch

    Mix well.

It needs to dry a bit before it is “workable”. It may be necessary to add a touch more glue or starch. You will have to experiment. It may not work well on a humid day. Store in an airtight container.

Has the same characteristics of commercial “Silly Putty”. Beware of contact with clothes and carpet.

Some other things might be sidewalk chalking, going to the dollar movies, taking a local art class, going to museums, there’s lots of fun stuff!

    have fun and good luck

have you tried the white bread and Elmers glue project. My kids enjoyed making their own t-shirts, doing sand art pictures (outside), growing a small garden (or flower box garden).

You can also go online for different craft and other activites.
