I want to learn French, would taking a college level course help? or should I use a computer program?

bee-on-ka asked:

I know my skills for learning a second language in a high school class, and I didn’t do so well. (It was for Spanish)

Now that I’m in college, I want to take French, but should I do that, or should I use a computer program like Rosetta Stone?

i’m having a hard time in spanish at school?

77tweetybird77 asked:

in foreign language at school this year. we’re using the rosetta stone program on the computer, and i’m taking spanish. i have a really hard time understanding what the man/woman is saying to me. (not because it’s in spanish though…it’s because the computer program is hard to learn from. :P )
the program shows 4 pictures, and tells you (in spanish) what the correct answer is…so you can match the word with the picture. it’s very hard to explain, so please excuse.
can anyone please translate the following words in spanish?

1. under
2. on
3. old
4. new
5. hair
6. young

i appreciate your help, and thanks for taking the time to read and answer my question!!! :D
BTW, i know the 6 words above may be easy to translate, and i’m sorry if i sound stupid for not knowing the spanish words for each one. ~thanks again.

What’s the fastest way to learn conversational Spanish from home?

Danzi asked:

I’m without a job or a car, so thought learning Spanish until I get a job (and car) would be a profitable use of my time.

Can buy a computer program and get materials from the library.

Any recommendations on the best software? Any other tips for making the best use of this time?
By the way, it doesn’t need to be computer software. If you think a certain school-based study program, some audio program, or something else is the best choice, I’m fine with that. But I can’t really afford more than one language software/program/etc.

I’m an American, and I know a lot of spanish, I know a ton of vocabulary and I feel like if I really put in the effort, I can become fluent within the next year or so if I really focus on it. What is the best program that I can buy so I can practice and continue learning spanish on my own time??
