Best way to learn Spanish? Rosetta Stone or Wake county public school courses?

Whatever asked:

I am 28 and I work in the public, I need to be able to speak spanish as if it is my main language.
I am trying to see which one is better in teaching you spanish, and possible the fastest. I work Full time, and so I would only be able to learn in the evenings, if anyone out there has tried either of these, Please let me know what you think, and which one you think may be the best. Thank You…

What are other language software programs like Rosetta stone?

Y!AaDdIcT asked:

I’m looking for language software that i can download for free off the internet. Something similar to Rosetta stone, or if anyone knows of a torrent for Rosetta then all the better.

Even if its not software…can be a really good website, free podcasts or anything. Im at a loss and any info i get would be great. Im looking to practice my French but also learn Italian and Spanish.

NB: I’ve tried byki.com and linguata.com but its all limited unless if you buy it, and i cant buy it. If you know where i can get the byki deluxe download then all the better, coz all the free downloads are pretty much useless.

ps. Im broke so i really truly madly deeply cannot buy anything online, that’s why im looking for free stuff

What’s the most efficient way to learn a new language?

Missy asked:

I’m trying to learn Spanish. I’m over half way done with the Rosetta Stone program and have done a lot of the content on studyspanish.com, but my Spanish is still super lousy. Using Free Online resources, how can I obtain fluency?

Ways to learn Spanish FAST?

KabbaSurabie asked:

I just started a job in a town with a very high Hispanic population. I work within elementary schools and probably 85% of the kids are bilingual–and maybe 20% are more comfortable speaking (and learning) in Spanish.

Add to that the fact that many of the parents ONLY speak Spanish, and you can see my problem. Being bilingual isn’t a requirement for my job, but it would sure make things easier.

I’ve already looked into the local community college, and it just doesn’t fit in with my schedule–at all. I’d prefer to take a class, but it’s not an option.

So what are some really effective ways that I can learn conversational Spanish quickly? I’ve heard that Rosetta Stone is good, but it’s also really expensive and I don’t want to “experiment” because they have a policy against reselling their products (via Amazon, Ebay, etc).

So, yeah, any help/advice would be great.

I might combine some CDs with a private tutor just to get the ball rolling. Money is a bit of an issue. I’m willing to spend money on a good quality CD program, but I’m wary about “wasting” money on something that may or may not work for me.

Uh…for the record, I JUST started this JOB so I can’t take time off to go to Mexico just so I can learn Spanish. Maybe someday, but not in the next several months, at least.

What I’m really looking for are suggestions of language-learning software (similar to Rosetta Stone but, hopefully, a little cheaper) that I could use.
