To take spanish 2 or to take spanish 1?
ok so my first year of high school and my schedule is very busy
this is my schedule..
0-Water Polo
1-Health (required but i’d rather not take it cuz its a stupid class)
2-Intro to computers for my Tech Art and my college prep
3-Algebra 2
4-English Honors (really hard 2 essays and its only the 3rd day of school and its a long essay and if you arent cut out for honors the teacher will call you out and start calling you stupid and saying you should be in regular english)
5-Spanish 1
6-ICS (a science class taken only because my major if you would call it cuz Magnet only exists in LA and they allow you to choose what your classes are going to be modeled after and they are special programs where it allows you to learn at a very accelarated rate)
Now the problem is i cant take Spanish 2 because my schedule is busy
im tired from having to wake up for zero period water polo and i get even more tired having to stay afloat at all times at a vertical angle without being allowed to just stay afloat the normal way so its already a challenge for me to stay awake around 5th period which i would have to change if i go to spanish 2 now i already taken spanish 1 but i need an easy class and i have to miss 2 days a week of school because out of school meets for water polo… What should i do?
Get spanish 2 and die under pressure (presumably)
or stay with spanish 1 and die under the pressure of reciting Como te llamas? and El Perro El Gato….. when i already have the ability to write in paragraphs

Would it be hard to learn Spanish and French at the same level simultaneously?
I’m currently a sophomore in high school and I’d say I’m a good student. I study and work hard, I’m an honors student, my GPA for the first quarter was a 3.868 (.04 away from making the high honor roll!) Currently I’m taking Honors classes in English, Global History, and Algebra 2. I’m in Spanish 2 and French 1, and regular Chem.
I have a very strong foundation in French, I should be in French 2 this year but I didn’t want to go through the process of switching around all of my classes for just that one class. (Basically, I went to a private school and took french from 1st – 8th grade, went to a public high school, switched to spanish, then decided to take up french again as my elective). So, since I love everything about French culture and it really interests me, I’m thinking about doing a Foreign Language Immersion Institute Program at my school over the summer — you take a 5 hour class for one week and then there is a week-long trip overseas to a country, I can’t remember if it’s Spain, France, or Italy. You can take a placement exam and if you do well you can even skip a level the next year.
I’m really interested in doing the program for French, since I do eventually want to become fluent in either French, Spanish, or both languages. The only thing is, I don’t think I’ll be able to go on the trip because my extended family has a trip to London planned for late June, which would be when the program trip is. Would participating in the program still look good on college applications?
And if I am able to skip to French 3, I’d be taking both Spanish 3 and French 3 (and probably AP English, AP US History, Pre-Calc Honors, and Physics) my junior year. Do you think that would be a little too much…? I’m sorry, I know this is a lot of info and a lot of questions wrapped into one but I’m just trying to figure out what my plan is.
